Carla Smith, life coach

When familiar patterns
no longer work.

You may know that something needs to change without knowing where to begin. You do not need to arrive with all the answers.

Feeling stuck

You keep returning to the same routines, even when they no longer support the life you want.

Doubting yourself

You have ideas or hopes for the future, but struggle to trust your capabilities or take the first step.

Facing a change

A change in your career or personal life leaves you uncertain about what comes next.

What we can work on

A clearer direction.
Practical steps.

I help you look at the different parts of your life and understand what is contributing to the challenges you face. Together, we decide what you want to work towards.

Confidence and self-belief

Recognise your capabilities and explore what makes it difficult to act on your ideas.

Habits and personal structure

Develop routines and practical actions that support your day-to-day life.

Responsibility and follow-through

Focus on what you can influence, take ownership of your actions and review your progress.

Carla Smith, life coach

Space to reflect.
Support to act.

01

Understand where you are

We begin with what brings you to coaching and explore the challenges across your life.

02

Choose your next steps

We agree a direction and practical exercises or actions you can try between sessions.

03

Reflect and build

We review what you tried, what you noticed and what needs to change as we move forward.

My manner is gentle and my approach is direct. I ask questions, help you consider another perspective and hold you accountable for the work you agree to do. Your willingness to reflect and participate is an important part of coaching.

Practical questions

Before we
begin.

Do I need to know my goal before starting?

No. We can begin by exploring what feels difficult and what you would like to be different. Understanding the direction can be part of the work.

How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?

Individual sessions are usually 60 minutes. I generally recommend meeting at least every two weeks initially; we discuss an arrangement that fits the work we agree on.

What happens between sessions?

I give you exercises or actions to work on, and we review them together at the next session. This is how we connect our conversations with your everyday life.

Can we meet online?

Yes. Sessions can take place online or in my consulting room. We can discuss your preference when you enquire.

Is life coaching the same as therapy?

My role is coaching. I do not treat depression or provide specialist care for a crisis or serious mental health difficulties. If the support you need is outside my scope, I refer you to an appropriate professional.
